Access to education doesn't begin in the classroom – but with the safe journey there.
The video shows the current situation with school transport at my school in Ghana: A single bus is not enough to transport all the children safely and reliably. The consequences are overcrowding, insecurity, and limited access to education.
An additional school bus would not only significantly increase safety, but also enable more children to receive regular education.
As a small association, we already cover the running costs of the school and now face the challenge of financing another bus.
The project clearly demonstrates how closely access to education, infrastructure, and security are linked.
