Benjamin Obeng, called only Ben by everyone, is a family man from Accra. With his 5 children (one is adopted) and his wife he lives in a suburb, which in Germany would rather be a city, and runs a small primary school for 250 children. Some of these children cannot afford the school and are therefore provided by Ben \"for free\" in terms of education, nutrition and school materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He took us in in March 2014 and let us live with him. In August 2014 he started his first trip to Europe, among other places to Kiel, to visit us here and take a look at our life. He has written a text to describe himself once:\n\u201cMy name is Benjamin Kwasi Dede Obeng. I was born on May 5th 1968 at Kantamanto near JamesTown in the central business area of Accra. I am the the third born of six siblings. I am married and a father of four children (3 girls and 1 boy). Also i am the proprietor of P. Brainy Kids Academy (an educational institution from Creche to Junior High Level). I have a big heart for children and always willing to help educate them, even if the parent cannot pay their fees. And for this reason I am the headmatser of Beneficial School Ghana, a scholl, which is free of fees.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2012, I have been travelling to Ghana once a year to implement specific projects for children in need. It started as a volunteer at a small school where I worked as a teacher for weeks and got a deep insight into the Ghanaian school system. Influenced by many impressions and the desire to improve, I organized smaller development projects from Germany to the point where Bastian and I decided to do even more. That was the birth of our association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my name is Bastian Br\u00fcck and I founded the club together with Tommy. Through him I first became aware of Ghana and learned to love the country and its people very quickly after we were there together for the first time in March 2014. In the meantime several visits have been made and it is always a wonderful experience to be there and to see the children's beaming faces. Benjamin Obeng (Ansprechpartner vor Ort) Benjamin Obeng, von jedem nur Ben genannt, ist ein Familienvater aus Accra. Mit seinen 5 Kindern (eines ist adoptiert) und seiner Frau lebt er in einem Vorort, der in Deutschland eher eine Stadt sein w\u00fcrde, und unterh\u00e4lt dort eine kleine Primary School f\u00fcr 250 Kinder. Einige dieser Kinder k\u00f6nnen sich die Schule nicht leisten und werden daher von Ben \u201efor free\u201c in Sachen Bildung, Ern\u00e4hrung und Schulmaterialien versorgt. Er hat uns im M\u00e4rz 2014 aufgenommen und bei sich wohnen lassen. Im August 2014 hat er dann seine erste Europa-Reise, u.a. nach Kiel angetreten, um uns hier zu besuchen und sich unser Leben anzuschauen. VORSITZENDER) Seit 2012 reise ich jedes Jahr einmal nach Ghana, um gezielt Projekte f\u00fcr hilfsbed\u00fcrftige Kinder umzusetzen. Begonnen hat es als Volunteer an einer kleinen Schule, an der ich wochenlang als Lehrer t\u00e4tig war und einen tiefen Einblick in das ghanaische Schulsystem bekam. Gepr\u00e4gt von vielen Eindr\u00fccken und dem Wunsch nach einer Verbesserung organisierte ich von Deutschland aus kleinere Entwicklungsprojekte bis zu dem Punkt, an dem Bastian und ich entschieden haben, noch mehr zu bewegen. Das war die Geburtsstunde unseres Vereins. Bastian Br\u00fcck (2. VORSITZENDER) Moin Moin, mein Name ist Bastian Br\u00fcck und ich habe den Verein mit Tommy zusammen gegr\u00fcndet. Durch ihn bin ich erst auf Ghana aufmerksam geworden und habe das Land und die Menschen sehr schnell lieben gelernt, nachdem wir im M\u00e4rz 2014 zum ersten Mal gemeinsam dort waren. Mittlerweile sind mehrere Besuche dazu gekommen und es ist jedes Mal aufs Neue eine wundervolle Erfahrung, vor Ort zu sein und die strahlenden Gesichter der Kinder zu sehen.
